Not all black seed oil is created the same

Seed origin, extraction methods, and product transparency all play an important role in the quality of the final oil.

When choosing a black seed oil, look for these key qualities:

🌿 Cold-Pressed Extraction
Gentle cold pressing helps preserve the oil's naturally occurring compounds without exposing it to excessive heat.

🌱 Pure Ingredients
Choose oils made without carrier oils, fillers, artificial additives, or unnecessary ingredients.

🔍 Transparency You Can Trust
A reputable brand openly shares its sourcing, production methods, and testing practices, helping you make an informed choice.

💛 Make an Informed Choice
Understanding what goes into your black seed oil is the first step toward choosing a product you can trust.

Quality begins with transparency.

How Tayyiba Wellness Differs

Why Sourcing, Purity, and Naturally Occurring TQ Matter

Not all black seed oils are produced the same way. The quality of black seed oil can be influenced by its seed source, growing conditions, extraction method, processing, storage, and overall handling. Thymoquinone (TQ) is one of the naturally occurring compounds found in Nigella sativa, but it is only one part of the oil's composition. At Tayyiba Wellness, we focus on whole, authentic black seed oil rather than isolated or artificially standardized TQ.

Our Quality Priorities

TQ
May vary considerably between oils
We measure naturally occurring TQ and use it as an important quality marker
Whole Oil
Often centered on a single specification
We value the complete naturally occurring oil composition
Processing
Processing methods vary
Cold-pressed and unrefined oil is our preferred standard
Source
Origin and traceability may vary
We prioritize authentic Turkish sourcing and traceability
Testing
Testing programs vary by supplier
We prioritize independent testing and transparent documentation
Quality Focus
Often centered on price or a single specification
Sourcing, purity, composition, testing, and transparency
Why TQ Matters — But Isn't Everything

Thymoquinone (TQ) is one of the most studied naturally occurring compounds in Nigella sativa. But black seed oil is more than TQ alone. Authentic black seed oil naturally contains thymoquinone alongside other constituents of the seed, including its fatty acid profile and other naturally occurring minor compounds. Rather than artificially enriching the oil with isolated TQ, Tayyiba Wellness focuses on preserving the whole-oil matrix and its naturally occurring composition. We believe in the value of the whole oil—not just one compound.

Why We Measure TQ

TQ is an important quality marker because its concentration can vary between black seed oils.

Our previous Turkish black seed oil sample was independently analyzed by a university laboratory in Türkiye and measured 2.34% naturally occurring TQ. Because natural agricultural products can vary by seed source, harvest, and processing, we do not assume that one test result represents every future batch.

As we develop our next production batches, our goal is to strengthen testing and documentation around TQ, identity, purity, oxidation, contaminants, and microbiological quality.

For us, transparency matters more than making the biggest claim.
